volume meter : connect an ampermeter to a telephone mic to a battery in a raw

or connect in a raw a battery to a resistor and a mic and the mic in parallel to a volt meter.

if the voltage or current are too high the volt/amper meter's galvanometer will fry so calibrate it to high volt or current first.
